The muted tonal palette is wonderful.
She does look a bit sad. Her eyes are beautiful.

I like the placement, just slightly left of center in the square format. It keeps the eye on her face. funny, but I don't see the sadness, but more of a Mona Lisa ambivalence that could be several different emotions.
