Toiling Away...

A shot from my ongoing series with a woodworker who is preparing a fantastic piece as a gift for the Dalai lama (the design is depicted in the background).

At first I thought those "c" shaped things were dust or processing problems on my neg, then I realized that they were wood pieces flying off.

Nice print. It is always nice to see people working on their art. I usually start getting annoyed when I can't get a print I like in 20 minutes and appreciate the people that spend much longer doing what ever it is they do. Its good for all of us to realize that art takes time and does not come easy.

I would really like to see the finished product and compare it to the design in the background. (and then do a little study)

Best,
Jim

Thanks for the comments! Indeed he is really lost in his work. It's a half-year project and I am fortunate to get to visit him and watch it progress. The finished product is going to be very interesting. Regarding the design, I am contact printing bits and pieces of that to go with the work shots... it might make a nice collection.
