I have been experimenting too with the Santa Barbara pin hole super wide 4X5 and just cannot come up with the sharpness and contrast that you experience. Both images are spectacular but my all time favorite is still Rock River. And I printed it out on some cheap paper and it was even more spectacular. Encourages me to keep trying. Thanks for sharing these great images.
First of all...I also find this pinhole very sharp for a pinhole...and as you probably know that "sharpness" is there if you maintain stabililty with long exposures via a quality tripod and head. That goes with any format of course. Most of my exposures with the Santa Barbara pinhole are in the 2-10 minute range, and stability is critical with those kind of times. If you're in windy conditions this can be quite a challenge...
I've only used this camera for about 30-35 exposures, and it's a really fun camera to use.
Also, Efke film is quite contrasty from my experience...but additional contrast is achieved with paper choice and of course the printing process.
I'm sure more accomplished printers could achieve much more with my negatives...I'm still learning...
