From my "infrared project" -- this is one of the two images that were just accepted into the Schuylkill River Heritage Area juried show in Pottstown, PA (out of three submitted). Since it was up against paintings as well as photos, I am pleased it got an Honorable Mention.
This is a former Pennsylvania RR bridge across the Schuylkill River. The RR grade is now part of a multi-use trail that is well on its way to reaching from center city Philadelphia to Pottsville, up in the anthracite region, approximately 100 miles, now maybe 60% or so complete. Congratulations Dave this is very impressive work, the composition is perfect, and the I.R. really makes the foliage stand out from the darkened sky.
 
I can understand how it got an Honourable Mention. This is a very saleable shot as well for those who know and admire this scene. A real talking point on anyone's wall. The tree's IR foliage ballooning out from the bridge on the left sets off the dark rails on the bridge nicely. The IR seems to give the picture an expansive look.

Many thanks for all the kind words, this has been a very encouraging experience. I can admit that the low percentage of "keepers" out of this project will probably keep my head from swelling too much. Apparently some of my intuitive adjustments don't fare so well when eyes and film are not responding to the same frequency spectrum.

(I swore I responded here late yesterday and this AM I don't see it -- so if any of you find blather from me somewhere that makes no sense, you know what happened. Maybe that's what the above phrase "Note: Your comment may appear in alternative locations" means! :D )
