Interchanging the two outside vases would help a lot. The darker vase is getting lost in the shadows on the left side of the frame.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I saw it as a combination of dark to light for both vases and background but I'll give the alterative arrangement a go sometime.
Richard.

I find it to be very interesting if one crops off the top of the vases to leave only the curving forms. Then I am not as concerned with the dark vase on the left. The subject is no longer 3 vases, but 3 sets of shadows, highlights, and curves.

If one removes the literal interpretation of the subject, the concept of moving the objects to change composition no longer exists. Then it is easy to accept the image for its forms and lighting. The curves also take on a human form when cropped. I can see an abstract of three bodies pointing towards the left of the frame. But then again maybe I'm just nuts.

As this is a concept you can tinker with at will, I'd suggest trying a version with a tall, narrow reflector at the left to add a hint of an edge reflection on the dark vase, but positioned such that it doesn't reduce the shadow on the wall.

there is alot of things you could do with these vases. good start!
