I had wanted to try my Crown Graphic on a walk and came along this scene. It was great to find these leaves before the local gardner came along and blow them out into the street.
This image "nailed my flippers to the floor"!! Beautifully simple... and yet, intensely complex and "abstraction-like" - sort of. If it was mine it wold hang on the wall of my studio,
I LOVE it!
P.S. Where? -- what?? ... *blue* leaves ?!?!
Thank you.
I am thinking of making a big print of this one. My wall space is getting a little tight.
The blue leaves are actually white leaves. I always work under open shade where the light tends to be blue. Fuji Provia has a blue bias as well. Fuji Velvia has a bias towards green and reds.
These two films are my main film of choice but I have been playing with color neg film and now remember how much fun that film is as well. Their pallets have change and I have to figure where they fall in the color spectrum.
Thanks again
This is a gem! Such a "simple" subject but somehow the light and tone rendering are so special. I suppose it is because the surrounding leaves are frosted (?) that these few centered ones look so special. Great find indeed!
