Sometimes it's hard to tell with scans if you intend for the contrast to be so stark, or if it is just product of the scan itself. For me, I wonder if it is the hedge row that is the empahis or the church. Since you say it is a church study, then I would like to see more of the church.
 
Excuse me, I see that the name of the file is St. Paul's Church study and that you have called it Three Crosses. Still, I think I would like to see more of the church, especially the crosses.
 
The contrast is stark because this was shot at night. The only light that was illuminating the scene was the lights around the church.

I totally did not notice the "5 minute exposure", sorry about that. That being known now, I understand. However, my eye still wants to see more of the illuminated church, I guess the hedge row is distracting to me. I betting that there is a chance for a good composition with a daylight photograph.
