playing with my new (to me) MT...used both front and back swing with this image in an attempt to run the plane of focus across the front of the mailboxes...did it work?
Seems to have worked, and that's not a bad shot either. When I first started using LF I tried to use much more movement than was necessary. The degree of correction is usually quite small.
thanks for all your comments, everyone! @shawn - that sqaure shape in the upper left hand corner is actually a chinese character "ç°", which means rice paddy or rice field, and it is actually a pictogram: the character looks like what it stands for. it just so happens to echo the shape of the mailboxes, too. lucky me. @tony: yes, i'm seeing/learning that, too. i'm much more likely to over-tilt/swing, when often all that's needed is a light touch. @martinjames - the call of LF is certainly alluring. i'm not sure that my photos have changed much (i'm only on my 5th or 6th roll), yet, but the necessity of setting up the camera for each shot definitely influences my decision of what to photograph; taking 5 to 10 minutes just to set up for a shot makes one think much more carefully about whether or not it's really worth the effort/time.
