Have you ever seen and image and wished you took it? That's what this image does to me. I know the transparency holds a lot more detail in the highlights, and I am willing to be that this is a stunning image when printed large.
Thanks for the very kind words. Bill Nordstrom (Laser Light Photographics), my printer did an excellent job on this transparency. The transparency perhaps has a slight amount of more information in the land in the highlight areas, however, there is no information or detail in the sky save the sunburst that wraps around the top of the Hammer. This is a case and point where I believe that a 2 or 3 stop ND Grad would very possibly have left a visible line across the upper portion of the Hammer. Perhaps this would have been an instance to use a 1 stop ND Grad filter (perhaps would have left no line), more information would have been visible in the sky and a bit more information would have been observed in the highlights of the land. As it is the sunlight wraps around and reflects off the rock to light the darker areas of the image. Yes the image is quite something when printed large and the colors are actually a bit more intense than they appear on the monitor. Rich
