Trying to use up some 120 film and my 'Yellowing' Promicrol-- found TMY 400 dated 06/1998, rated it 200ASA and processed for 18 mins as per instructions BUT result was OVER-development and dense negs-- could not believe it for such 'OLD' film ! Dull Light Scenes like THIS not too bad.
Old film can fool one with bonus speed. That is why I ALWAYS, without exception, do a clip test with any remotely dubious roll of film. (I also cut film mid-roll and load in darkness with tape, so that only one or two frames are lost.)
But your picture does have merits, Pete, as the frontal resolution is superb. Maybe that was not the targeted area for best quality; maybe the focus could have been better directed to further distance, but the picture is relatively pleasing and I did wish to remind both you and others that 'old' film might not be fully indicated by actual date. - David Lyga
yes David -- I too CUT film as you do but it's not easy doing it with Hasselblad film holder ! I have 1 more roll to try but am going to be away for 2 weeks.
