This rug really ties the room together

At first I positioned the camera higher but this created a cramped look so I changed it. The camera is at exactly the same height as the lamp and the lamp is dead center of the picture. This does create a foreground that leads you into the center of the image and creates a warped perspective with the floor boards leading you in, the carpet and the floor horizon quite high up. This makes me tall, plus emptied the bottle that said 'Drink Me' ;-)
 
As long as there is no Chinaman around... the rudg is safe!BTW, I don't remember the Dude's home was so clean...
 
There is so much to love about this shot... the conflicting angles of the ceiling and the beam in the lower right, the Art Deco echos of the furnishings, the passage way to the left, the air of suave decadence of the bloke in the robe, the interplay with the cat, the austere look of the walls - like a stretched canvas awaiting the brush, the rough and knotty floorboards... and the rug. Love, love, LOVE this shot.
