I discovered an old neg during a clear out. It's scrtched but the image is printable. Taken in York in 1982, anyone want to try their hand at printing a jpeg on CD in 2030 ? :-)
If I get a good enough print I will post to the board.
As amatter of interest comments on the photo much appreciated.
I totally agree (big surprise, on apug... I know...).
I've got a photo set on Flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/circlesofconfusion/97259603/in/set-72057594058493951/
comprised of 126 cartridge images shot on an instamatic from 1966 on that were on undeveloped film in a drawer, closet, and at one point got tossed about by a hurricane in Galveston, TX before I processed them in Diafine this year, 40 years after they were taken. Anyone for resurrecting a jpeg off a CD in 2046? How many times would you (and your children, ec.) have to backup, change media, change image file type, etc over the next 40 years?
Yeah, I love going into the local photo store, getting theminto their little digital Jimmy Swaggart mode and telling them that I will buy a digital when they show me a 100 year old digital print
