In our county there are several gorgeous places to visit that are scenic, historic, and interesting. Orange County Arboretum is one such place that hosts vivid floral gardens, and a water garden replete with lily pads, frogs and pond scum (Shawn...take note!). However, this photograph was made at the small pond that abuts the deer fence that girds the place against those erstwhile wolfbait critters.

..your story reminded me of the WKRP Cincinnati episode with the band "Scum of the Earth" and the signs "Welcome Scum! " that provoked the comment "Aren't we inviting in the worst kind of people..?"
