Out with my large format users group a couple of weeks ago for a photo walk. This is our $20mil Peace Bridge. Calgary had it built in France and then shipped over. They made it to short and all the welds were bad. Cost additional millions to fix the poor workmanship.
Awty, actual I thought so too until I realized it was the shore on the far side that was lit with pathway lights. I find it distracting a bit but it does give some separation between the bridge and the river.
Two words for the City of Calgary officials who decided to have it made in France: Renault LeCar.
That said, I do like the image - I like the dynamic leading lines of the bridge that pull you in to the city skyline.
really enjoy this straightforward photograph of a this bridge,
reflections and muted light always gets my attention !
and weirdly those buildings almost lood like they are cardboard cut outs
