The Opera House

I was right there in that exact spot back in September last year.
Nice lines in your composition, but if it were my picture, I would crop both from top and bottom to get to the essence of the picture.

Thomas - as a discussion point, where would you crop at? When I composed this shot I consciously included the foreground deck as a "negative space with detail" and I liked they way its lines, and the opera house roof, pulled the eyes off to the side of the frame. Between looking at it so long, and my admitted personal bias I have a hard time seeing it another way.

I believe the building on the left is 'Den Sorte Diamant' - The Black Diamond library. The upper part of the picture and empty sky adds little to the overall picture, so my thought was to crop it from the top to cut the upper portion of the the library structure by half. That would cut the uppermost cloud in about half too, which I think makes a nice transition into the picture and gives direction toward the opera house.
Then I would crop from the bottom to make it square, and burn in the foreground to lead the eye into the frame more. If you printed it, of course. I would also burn in the right hand side, to tone down the very bright sky in that area, also to lead the eye to the main point of interest - the opera house.
Finally I would lighten the tones of the actual opera house a hair, just so that it very clearly stands out against everything else.

Just my two cents worth. Hope it adds to your view of the picture. I think Copenhagen is just amazingly beautiful with all of its mixed architecture.
