Image taken last week of our mechanic and friend. I've often told him that he looks as if he's stepped from another era. He's definitely a man of the South!
Taken with my old Canon A-1, 85mm lens, shutter speed @250-500, aperture @2.8 - 5.6 range. Tri-x film rated @320 developed in T-max. Scanned neg.
This is a scanned neg. Tri-X film. No changes made to the actual scan. That's just how the neg came out. I don't use 'grayscale' or 'black and white' modes when scanning.
I've noticed that our negs (when processed in T-max) have a 'warmer' tone to them than those processed with HC110 or Xtol. Not sure why...but I'm really liking the results on the final prints from the T-max Developer.
Just wanted to add that due to the size restrictions for posting the image here, you don't get to 'see' the detail in this guys face. If you'd like a 'closer' look, feel free to view the image here:
Congratulations Dorothy, I realy admire your work, this is a beautiful and sensative portrait, you can almost see his life experiences in his his eyes. You'r old A1 with 85mm for portraiture still kicks ass.
