Have to ask, Im a big fan of Steve Shermans work, does he have some images from this same location? it looks vaguely familiar.

Matt- yes, Steve has some work shot in this same location - I think he did his shot from the crosswalk above where I was standing, in a horizontal composition - I can't recall off the top of my head if his was 8x10 or if it was 7x17. Eastern State Penitentiary is a lf photographers' wet dream of a subject. So many interesting textures and spaces. I've got another shot from one of the cells that I need to reprint darker, then I'll post it.
