I think those highlights can be tamed when printing. This is a great shot, but I believe will be a difficult neg to print. I think you can increase the contrast in the print overall and add some punch and also exentuate the boy.

Thanks Andrew, appreciate your comments. I am wondering whether a tighter crop cutting out the sky and centring even more on the boy would make the print better, exentuating the boy as you say and not having to worry about the blown out area top left? You would lose a bit of the crowd (guy on the left) I guess. Thanks for the support.
