One of many from a "photo walk" with another APUGger and two others. We spent a couple of hours at the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad. It is a functioning tourist operation, but difficult to determine whether the back end is a restoration queue or the scrapyard! Lots of glorious old rust!
DWT, a very solid image sharing this view of an old railway car from a previous era. I might crop in ever so slightly on the right dropping the right hand shadow slice and the small frame in the UPRHC. The lettering that you pointed out in the title is a real positive signature to the old car IMO. Might have been something Bret Maverick would have played cards in back then......
Thanks guys! @Trail Images interesting thought on the stuff on the right edge. These scans are pretty much a quick "what's on the film" (minus the conceit of showing the rebates!) Should I ever get to printing this, I'll tinker a little with that concept. @mfohl cool catch on the smiley! Didn't notice that -- but I was probably concentrating on other things -- the debris I was standing on, or it doesn't show in this view, but one could see down to the rails and ties through the gaps between those horizontal I-beams. I believe this was a regular passenger coach from the 1920s or 30s, but some of this stuff has obviously not been well protected in its later history.
