This is the first photograph I have made with the 120mm S-Planar at longer distance away than a portrait. This lens has never let me down in the resolution category.

I am new to APUG. I have been photographing for over 30 years and black and white is my passion.

great first post .... looking forward to seeing more of your work .... welcome to APUG !

If this was a print I would say that it is slightly overprinted and advise that you would hold back when printing it the next time. The fence and house are gray instead of white. Otherwise I like the photo very much.

Somehow, it brings "American Gothic" to mind. And, a paean to angularity and simplicity,

Thanks for the feedback and I can see your point. The light on the front of the house was painted with that light from changing clouds. I feel the tones reflect the way I saw it at the moment of exposure. The true bit of Zone VIII exposure is the clapboard to the right porch.

The image looks like something out of the heartland in the 1940's!

The image seems a little rich and contrasty. The detail in the shadow area on the left porch is weak and the shingles look kind of dark. The whites on the house and picket fence look a tad rich as well.
