The Family

Again taken in Sri Lanka. I did ask them to pose for me and took several shots. For the the last shot i asked the father to place his hand on his sons shoulder. This is the shot I like best. I should add that that I did pay them.

Very nice placement in the frame. It's more than a family portrait to me, it almost bears spiritual connotations. Very peaceful and meditative. Harmonious.

Very nice. Well balanced. The hand makes for a strong connection. Just a damn fine shot.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I must admit when I printed it, the comparsion with the "the Holy Family" paintings that I had seen in my youth occured to me. It is interesting sometimes to attempt to trace the influnces that made you take a photograph.

Thanks Peter & KPT, it is a personal favourite of mine. I must admit I enjoy looking at the framing techniques on display on APUG.
