The Election Theater

I would really appreciate some feedback on this photograph. It almost seems to be taken by mistake as it feels inexplicably foreign and strange to the photographer who took it.

I find this picture difficult to decipher. I can see the repeated shape of the outstretched arm in shadow and reality plus the double head shadow on the canvas. But how the vertical highlight from the bottom to half way into the picture and the diagonal highlight that crosses it relate to the other elements within the photo is hard to discern. They capture my attention and break up any rhythm being created by the other objects within. If the photographer composed the picture, I'm sure that he is happy with it and I'll admit that I just don't get it.

Cheers

Yeah, I don't really it at all either. I like it, but I don't know why. It somehow confuses my genius mind. And I seek the answer.

This almost works for me, I love the shadows contrasted with the well lit speaker....I would just like to see a little more of him, not too much, just a little.

My eyes were drawn to the brightest part of the photo, and the white line leading into the center. At that point I had to scan the middle of the photo to find the speaker. The title definitely helps out to guide the viewer on what to look for.
