This is my eldest. It is a nightmare to get her out of bed in the morning - weekdays, that is. It usually takes me 6 - 8 attempts to lure her out of bed and get dressed, which takes her up to 40 minutes. It also seems, that gravity is far stonger on weekday mornings than any other time of the week...
On the weekends however, she can easily get up at 6 in the morning and get dressed within 2 minutes - bizarre. But I am sure you all know what I am talking about...
Nice image of a domestic daily struggle for many parents! Except on weekends, of course. Just wish there was a tad more light on her face. Nicely seen...
You are correct for the light, I was actually struggling a bit with the picture because of the conditions (dark and loads of contrast). Maybe I give it another try and replace this one then...when you blow it up, you can also see that the focus is not quite right. Ah well, there is always room for improvement....
Sounds like you'll have PLENTY of opportunity here for more shooting. Of course, the very fact that you are photographing her may get her moving more quickly!!
Suzanne, that is just wishful thinking!!
The only things to get to move her fast is chocolate and watching telly...and as she does not get that too often, she usually does not move!!
Oh boy, can't wait for her to become a proper teenager....
I continue to enjoy your stuff. It would be nice if there were more light on the face, but there is enough. I always have my wife decide on which of a series of the kids is the best. I look at compostion, backgrounds, etc. She evaluates based on the facial expression, i.e., did I capture the essence of the kid? Nice when everything comes together. But, it doesn't have to.
Thanks Tom!
Glad you like my pictures - nothing great, but I like to capture the little things in life. I found that everybody tries to take pictures of the 'great' things in life, but it is the little and mundane things that will get forgotten, and it is my aim to preserve that, at least fot my family!
I will definetely give this picture another try, thanks to yours and Suzannes comments!!
Ah children are alike over the world. My eldest is up before the birds on weekends but come school days it's like prying rusty nails from an old board.
I love the humanity of the image.
