Did you look down the barrel? There used to be a pair of these on the county courthouse lawn, pointed directly at the police station. They'd been there since the late 19th century, so I was told. Someone finally got around to looking into them about 40 years ago -- it turned out they were still loaded! My 60's hippie friend said, "If only we'd known..."
