Hiya Martin,
The crap scans don't really do justice to the prints. The dark areas don't take up the tone (or rather they're not nearly as visible as they are in the highlights) and it imparts an almost, that's almost, split-tone effect. My personal preference is for Yorkshire Tea. One tea bag in a pint of water which is then diluted 1:4. Decaff is an absolute no-no
