The bright side

Some of you may have seen Trevor Crone's series on white plastic chairs (Aug edn UK B&W mag), but I recall them from an earlier appearance in the late, lamented Mono magazine. The mundane nature of the chairs has always struck a chord with me, so the appearance of these silver/metallic plastic chairs made redundant by a rainy day just appealed to me. A mju II loaded with XP2 was immediately to hand, and it's weatherproof nature meant that the rain was not an issue.

Love the tone and texture.

Thanks both. This was taken a week ago on a cold, drizzly day with a few souls huddled inside, yet I stopped there again yesterday in sunshine, about 24C, and all the outside tables were full. Scottish summers, eh?

"I love the U.K. You get all four seasons and usually in the same afternoon" I think this quote or facsimile thereof is attributable to the late Frank Sinatra who had it about right. There was a thread recently which included an article on the MjuII in which the author claimed that its programme was designed always to give highest shutter speed at expense of DoF. This shot would seem to contradict that.

Great metallic look of the chairs and tables contrasting with the otherwise drab conditions.
