The Beginning, Brussels 2009

The highlight is a little strong for my taste but this is a great image, kind of a little spooky and un nerving !! Thought the baby might be for real at first.

Now that's creepy. I can think of atleast a dozen horror films all mixed into this scene.

I also find the highlights on the top right a little harsh. The shot does have emotion in it through its somewhat disturbing feel. Thanks, E.

Thanks guys...Lith it is, Vic I cleaned the lens tonight and it was basically haze on the rear element I think. I could see it before starting and it isn't there anymore. So unless it is a coating issue, the scatter should have gone. Will have to try it out again next weekend. The image was so much clearer on the ground glass I could not believe it! I then cleaned the ground glass and the colours on the TV (which I usually use for testing brightness) were in another league....should have done it when it arrived I guess...just being lazy. Contrary to popular opinion, lith does not improve every picture. I like the shot as it is but with maybe a bit of burning down of the highlight top left. IMHO lith is to harsh for the mood this well crafted shot evokes.

Great image indeed! Wonderful atmosphere. Agree with the highlight comments. Maybe you can make it square at the bottom?...
