The Bear and Billet, a public house in Chester, England, built in 1664. This photo was taken in August of 1983. This print was made in July,1984 on 8” x 10” paper. (Previously posted, but long since deleted.)
An interesting building. You captured the detail in the facade. I read that it is "one of the last of the great timber-framed townhouses in England." The door in the gable is prominent in the photo, which begs the question of why there should be a door there. Wiki said, "It was also probably used as a grain warehouse because in the gable are double doors and a bracket for a hoist."
