I have to agree with Svenedin. It may well be your scanner. Are you sure it looks a lot better from your viewpoint? If it looks fine on your scanner then something is happening to spoil it when it gets to my VDU and it would appear Svenedin's also. None of this matters if your neg/print is sharp except it reduces the benefit to APUG viewers.
Alas, that (now, continuing) lack of critical focus was the first thing that dissuaded me from falling in love with this image. It matters a lot and, obviously, it is not the result of a 'faulty' Hassleblad lens. Even the close-up rocks are lacking critical focus, leading me to wonder whether the mirror is off a bit or there was camera shake. - David Lyga
Isn't it a print though? Says "Ilford" in paper and developer section. I do notice my prints lose sharpness when the size is reduced for posting on here. Whatever the problem is, it seems to have affected the whole sequence.
@Svenedin So right, I didn't notice the Ilford reference. When I upload to this website I expect some degradation but I have never experienced what this image shows. Will be interesting to find out what the problem was/is.
Thanks all. I've just reprinted this. There was definitely a focussing issue and maybe also a scanning issue. Once the print is dry will scan and post.
