This is another image from my past, I had a roll of TMAX 3200 I wanted to finish so I shot this candid as Thaddeus was getting ready to go out the window of the old apartment we lived in. There was a balcony we had made on the other side, we sat out there on many nights. Now only the image and my memory remains.
This was taken not long before thaddeus left. I like this image because of the flowers drying on the wall. They were to later become a gift to me. when thaddeus left he had arranged an acquaintance of ours to get to the apartment before i did after i finished work on the day he left.
The plan was to dim the light in the apartment, play a common piano record thaddeus often played. and set up a trunk in the living room.
When i got in the home that night the apartment felt empty of everything except the ghosts of the past. And when i entered the living room i was told by the acquaintance to sit down, and then he left. I sat down alone and opened the trunk inside was lit candles from the window bays, the drying roses from the walls and the notes he was always scribbling.
I think it was the nicest gift anyone has ever given me.
