This is a very special image for me. I know it is from the famous AA spot but I took this on my birthday in October of this year on the Owens Valley Large Format get together. Bill Theis and I spent 6 hours here photographing this iconic location. I have tried for years to get this shot. This is my first time printing on Kentona and this is not toned and is a straight print.
I just worked on this print a little in the darkroom. This paper tones very quickly in KRST 1:20. I toned it for about 3 minutes and the print has a rich silver black look to it. Not quite as warm as un-toned but different. Kind of hard to explain.
Great perspective. There is something in the gray scales of the mountains that reminds me of pictures in the big books at my grandfathers home that I looked in as a kid.

WOW!!! BEAUTIFUL, i wish i was there right now, i really think that the foreground adds so much where you can see clearly to the lake bottom. if it looks this good here i can imagine how nice an original print must be.....frank
Thanks for the comments everyone. This was a truly special day. Good company, great light, virtually no people. I think this was Ansel's birthday present to me.
