In truth to me it's no different to shooting something from the industrial revolution or more recent industrial decay, one history - the ancient at least has some protection, our Parents, Grand-parents etc seems not to be important.

I shoot shots here that my wife doesn't recognise, and that's great - she knows these places well as she's a tour leader I avoid the tourists

Superb, a very fertile ground for photography. I guess if your wife is a tour leader, she could lead them all away from you!
