Have you seen Bravo's photo of a sleeping dog? Your angles are opposite, but this does remind me of his 8x10. It was a later shot of his 1966. In his a corn crib or hay crib provide the angularity rather than shadow. I like this composition.
No I haven't seen Bravo's, but I am curious so I will seek it out. The angles of the shadows are what first attracted me to this. However, what I didn't notice until I went to make the first print were the relationships of these shadows to other angles in the photograph - the dog's legs, the angle of their heads and ears, etc... I'm not much of a "decisive moment" person since most of my photographs are made with an 8x10 view camera, but this was one such moment. Looking at the scan, it really doesn't come close to matching the delicate tones in the adobe on an actual print, but you get the idea.
