i revisited this scene today. i originally shot it in 6x7 but was dissatisfied with my exposure. today i had luck on my side. not sure about framing yet (wish my camera was higher -- ladder?) but the exposure is more amenable to printing. this is a flatbed scan of my 4x5 polaroid. slight unsharp mask, auto-levels.

Jason -

did you also shoot this on film?

This is an interesting subject, and the combination of the graffitti, the picnic table, and the building in the background with the stack and clouds could make for an interesting print. But I think that to be effective, it needs more contrast in the foreground to emphasize the graffitti and the texture of the picnic table, and also the clouds need to be burned down to be more ominous.

Wow! Reminds me of an early shot of Flin Flon Manitoba, circa 1940's. I love it!

monophoto -- yes i shot this on film. i intentionally shot one at -2 so i could try to overdevelop the neg to hopefully get more contrast. i also shot one at normal exposure, same as this polaroid. hopefully i did everything correctly in camera.
