Some trees stand in the open fields of Symmons Plains, midlands Tasmania.
This was my first outing with the "Red 29" deep red filter. Perhaps need to work on developing technique or try a different film which has better latitude so I can retain more detail in the shadows.
Love the drama, and the light on the tussocks really make the pic. A red filter will always make you lose those shadows, and the green leaves will go black as well. Technique will improve it a little, but this effect is just a consequence of a red, or to a lesser extent,an orange filter.
Thanks for the kind comments, all. Unfortunately the negative was quite badly scratched at top & bottom from the CL81 processing reel meaning I had to crop some, the composition in the foreground was much more pleasing originally where you could see the bare grass in front of the tussocks.
