Taken back in '93 on a days walking round Swindale. I was walking back to my bike when I came across this scene. It has languished in my files since then. I decided to try my zonemaster out with this neg and this was the result which I didn't think was too bad.
This is a really beautiful picture. I keep coming back to look at it. It reminds me of the pictures taken by some of the great Victorian/Edwardian photographers that busied themselves taking pictures of pastorial England. Well done.
Warm Regards
Julian
Lovely - classic pictorialism, absolutely timeless. Is this the Swindale just east of Haweswater? I've been meaning to explore there and this just whets my appetite!
Lovely, very 19th century British. Could do well as a copperplate engraving. If I'd past that in the Jenson, no one would notice.
(But on my screen which is too dark it even looks better than on our other, properly calibrated screen, where it seems to be a bit too bright).
