sunset in st. Joseph

I recently got back from a cabin in St. Johseph state park in Florida. I was shooting sunsets one night and this is my favorite out of the ones I got. What do you think...This was my first time of shooting a setting sun and I think I did alright.

I like it! I like the diagonals formed by the beach (dry sand & wet sand) and the water.

I like the strip of golden wet sand on the beach. Nice colour. Watch those horizons. I find it is sometime dificult to get horizons straight when using wide angle lenses with 35mm. Try using a tripod with a level built into the head. you may be able to crop the print to eliminate the sloping horizon.

Thanks for the complements, I\\\'m not too good withmy straight verticals usually, it must have carried over with my horizion lines too...but i\\\'ll be sure to double check before I press the shutter button, and I do need a tripod I just don\'t have much money right now cause it\'s all goin for a tlr, havent found one yet but I want the money to be there when I find one.

I just got back from the Outer Banks of North Carolina during which I had gotten up on three successive mornings in an attempt to catch a good sunrise. I haven't developed the film yet, but I can only hope I caught one as well as this.
I find myself forgetting and re-reminding myself to check my horizon location. And, sometimes the little oops's still look great. This is a nice image.

thanks alot joey, horizons and vertical lines always get me...not too good at the double checking thing myself, I hope your mourning shots turn out, be sure to post one.

In addition to the horizon being horizontal, I think it best not to "bullseye" the sun in the exact center of the frame. Put the most important thing in the frame a little to the left or right of the vertical centerline and a little above or below (in this case above) the horizontal center line. Love the colors and the sand reflections. Keep it up.
