Awesome Baxter! Love the sheen on the rocks/mud and the colors in the reflection are amazing. I like 'Baxter-tastic' by the way.

Thank you all very much.

As always, it is hard to convey the beauty of a LF tranny on a web image smaller than the original. This is one where the wonder of the 110XL lens truly holds masses of detail.

In terms of composition, it wasn't what I really wanted to shoot, but there were 3 other photographers on the end of the ledge on LHS including my pal David Ward who was teaching. There was the most amazing underlit cloud formation, but inevitably compromised by their presence in the image - ugly bunch!

As a result I was forced to look for something else and was pleased to have discovered this scene as an alternative.

Took 2 variations, this was the later image. The differences are that the foreground blue is more pronounced and the water is ruffled in the mid-distance giving a change of colour, the earlier one is more uniform. My initial preference was the other one, but my 11 year old daughter preferred this one instantly and I soon saw she was right..... not that she'll be allowed this status in other life aspects very often!!!!

As for the new adjective, I can only reciprocate with ALeonation....... which I don't want to do! Or does one need a visa for a-LeoNation? Suggest we all keep up the good 'work'.

Happy New Year etc too whilst I am about it. Not that the forecast is looking good for the foreseeable and I have an urgent need to get out with the camera again.
