Hi Rich, another one of your great images. Good to see the series, that way I can get an idea of how you approach subjects where you live. I have no real knowledge of the East Coast; I haven't visited that part of the country in almost 20 years. Great color on this shot, love the pink in the sky and the slightly lit buildings in the back parts of the picture. I bet this would be a wonderful place to relax, with a cup of coffee, and watch the sunrise (or better yet, to photograph it). Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the very kind words. As I reviewed the images on the light box for printing, this one was selected because I captured a gull in flight in the image very near the upper left third. It is just visible in this size image. This was a soft morning sunrise, more in the lighter pinks and pastels. But, it was still a wonderful experience. This image was approached with a somewhat different approach allowing a large part of the foreground to almost go silhoutte with just a little detail visible in the rocky shoreline. I allowed the silhouetted area to act as a frame for the main island/house which I uncharacteristically placed in the center of the frame. Other houses and islands are found scattered throughout the image along the horizon line and the glint of the sun can be seen reflecting off the windows of the homes. Rich
