Sunrise on Jackson Square

Any critique is welcome. Should I crop out the flag?

I took nearly the same shot but landscape and much wider angle (28mm) with a Canon FTBn. (No print but scan available here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/rob_bultman/12060984115/in/album-72157639984320606/) Yours is nicer in general because of the clouds. The flag is a bit distracting. I'd say crop the flag out, keep the cathedral centered, but crop the bottom also. Try cropping either to the bottom of the close fence posts or eliminate the posts altogether. I think it might be more dramatic with the cathedral closer to the bottom of the print but with that expanse of sky still above. Cheers.

Thank you for your replies. I have played around with the negative a bit more in my darkroom and have decided to crop out the flag pole while keeping the building centered. I cropped the bottom at the edge of the sidewalk and left as much of the sky as I could. I wanted this print large, so I was a bit worried cropping would limit the print size; however, it prints quite well at an 11x enlargement factor.

I look forward to seeing the new print.
