The beast of Ian Grant awaits his nimble fingers. This lovely camera probably started it's life, at a guess, some 70 to 80 years ago, probably more, photographing the sombre faces of the UK's gentry. Today it gets a trip out to the lovely beach at Gwithian, Cornwall.
This is a wonderful location and although there is so much to photograph here, I chose to keep my camera in it's bag and just enjoy the sun, sea, sand and conversation with fellow APUGer's
The Agfa Ansco & 12" Dagor started life at the hands of a lecturer, Charles Brown, around 1938/9, he taught at the Clarence White School of Photography, NY, in th US. Later the camera was consigned to ignominious use as a copy camera in the 90's by it's second owner, a photography professor, in Portland Maine
