First impression: very attention grabbing image that to my eyes has a slightly discomforting feel to it. A combination I think, of the robed figures, their positions, and the effect of the infrared film, with it's rendering of a dark grey/black sky, and glittering robes. Although I know it's not the case, it makes me think of bonfires, and crosses burning.
Well spotted Marc, it is of course taken at the Semana Santa (Holy Week) festival in Spain. I was being mischievous by not giving full information on the shot. The festival dates back to the 16th century and to my eyes is a photographers paradise especially if you like photojournalism. I've been in Spain on 4 different Easters just to photograph this festival. And it's been good to me, I was first in Ireland to have a solo exhibition on this subject.
Look out for lots more.
