Or ominous. They think they have all the time in the world. But larger forces are at work. I almost get a feeling of dread more than of fun, suggested by the dark sky. A cool picture extracted from a rather mundane common scene. The mark of a person who knows his stuff.

Thanks, jp and Michael. I had a discussion with someone who advocated for 'artist statements'. You guys have made my anti-statement point. If you define precisely what your photograph is about, you stifle the myriad of other possible meanings it could have. What it is can be pretty obvious; what else it is is best left to the viewer.

Great shot! The red filter made something nice out of what would have otherwise been a bland sky and you timed it right to get the reflections in the wet sand.
