Strumble Head Lighthouse

Strumble Head Lighthouse

After a day of dismal grey and strong winds I was very glad that I'd packed my camera gear in my family car. As evening came the sky began to clear and I had my family drop me at Strumble Head where I proceeded to burn through three rolls of Velvia 100 in an attempt capture the best possible shot of the lighthouse. In typical fashion the shutter on my Mamiya 7II began playing up and I missed one of the best phases of colour but this shot came out pretty well. The walk back along the coastal path to our holiday cottage in the light of the moon was equally entrancing.

It was a lonely but atmospheric spot when I was there in Nov 2006 in late afternoon light. Must have been great to have been there until after dark.

Nicely done
