Thanks to you all for the positive feedback. I am trying various other options to Velvia 50, despite my appreciation at its unique qualities.
In addition to this straight version, I was trying an 81B and the Lee enhancer which looked fabulous on the Ground glass. The film rendered it differently! - with RVP 100 which came out horrendously red and the RVP100F (at ISO200) which wasn't quite right. The intention for the Enhancer was to bring out the pink elements in some of the granite boulders.
The lighting was quite soft and unusually no ND grad was needed. I still have some RVP100F to process, but am happy enough with this version. Sadly the waves in this aren't nearly so well shaped. It was blowing a force 8 offshore at the Brisons and the spray and waves were spectacular.
It is such a small yet inspirational location where you have to work with the prevailing conditions and moods. My advice - just don't arrive with preconceived ideas or try to predict what you will come away with!
