Stonington is a real working fishing village located on Deer Isle at Penobscot Bay in midcoast Maine. It's a picturesque little town. When I was vacationing in Maine, I made trips here on 4 consecutive early mornings, trying to catch the light just right. Never got what I was looking for, but this was my last day, and had to take what was availiable.
Nice image. One of my favorite harbor towns. It's just a perfect location for a 7x17 shooter. The morning I was there, the sun popped out from behind the clouds twice for about 30 seconds each time. I missed the first occasion, but had the 7x17 focused, loaded and ready to trip the shutter when the second occasion occured. Traveling with multiple tripods allowed me to continue making images with my 8x10 while waiting for the sun to cooperate.
