Never one to back down from a challenge... when a Kodak team meeting in Stamford was sprung on me, I knew I had to meet Stone. I picked the location, Curley's Diner, because of its friendly atmosphere. We chatted for a couple hours. I don't think I sold him on sensitometry but I tried.
Hi Bill, thanks for posting this. I'd only barely met him on line here at APUG a couple months back. He was very helpful with my needs for some 4x5 film not easily found at the time. If you talk again, tell him Trail Images said "hello!"
I've had extensive contact and always found him to be pleasant and considerate. Can't ask for more than that.
Bill, how old is your Retina I? Which model number? I was looking at Camerapedia and the 'I' version had a long run. I have a Retina Ia, the successor, with a Schneider f/2.8 lens that belonged to my late father. It still works fine, but the lens has bad fungus. I keep meaning to replace it. Nice little camera.
Thanks, I posted to LFPF in "safe haven" thread, Yup it's for the MSA, I take my assignments seriously, if the assignment had been "photos in jnanian style" I would have tried to meet you... Trail Images, I'll tell him you said hi.. The Retina I is the one with Ektar lens. Quite nice lens/camera but I would prefer a parallax corrected rangefinder instead of scale focus approximate viewfinder. I'm always at risk of cutting off people's heads with this thing.
