Stone Patterns, Iona

I find macro patterns the most difficult type of landscape photo to make, but they give me the greatest pleasure when they work.

Often this has to do with a composition that has an internal 'logic' or 'balance', but which has not been 'doctored' by moving stones etc. (my 'rules' for this type of work).
Location
St Columba's Bay, Isle of Iona, Hebrides, Scotland
Equipment Used
Pentax 67II, 105mm lens

Lovely work indeed, nature at her un-noticed best.

i love how the thumbnail makes the subject look like
hammered and bleached leather, or bronze
and when you look at it full size it is beautiful stones.
wonderful composition!
