Interesting, I wonder if a white card placed/hidden behind the upper leg could have bounced just a bit of light up on her face, perhaps creating a catch light in the eyes?
Good capture, I enjoyed it very much.
Indeed this is a nice image. In hindsight the net curtain material pulled around the female would have subdued the light even more and might have prevented some of the burn-out highlight areas which detract from a potential exhibition image for me!
I am happy you have liked this photograph although I suspect it is mostly due to the pretty girl featured and not to its any artistic quallities. I feel though I need to come to the defense of certain technical misunderstandings. First of all, it was not posed. She was in fact dressing and I just said "Hold it!" Second, it is framed exactly as I wanted. I am never disturbed by "cropped" body parts. Third, I did extensive control of highlights and contrast to bring the mood I considered effective. It is not a Zone landscape and I wanted to capture the natural light situation. I used four grades (5,3,1,0) in different areas and the result is exactly to my taste.
I was going for an "almost accidental" capture, a snapshot of a mood, not a tightly stractured model pose. Its somewhat snapshot quallity I believe brings out the mood wanted. To that, do you concur or is it an empty amateurish badly developed and printed negative as one has suggested?
