I enjoyed getting lost in the maze of alleys. Every once in a while I would take out the map to get my bearings or just see where I managed to end up. What a neat place.
I knew there was no way on earth that you could walk the streets of Venice without at least making a few photographs. A little bit more than a 'snap' I would say Daniel.
Daniel,
I was just watching a show on TV about how photography influenced painting in the late 1800's. Previously, the entire subject was illustrated in the scene. Photography, was credited with the idea of viewing the world as if through a window where the subject enters/exits the scene and may not even be fully seen. Your cropping illustrates this idea perfectly. Had you not been so creative in the cropping of the steps, your photo would have been more documentary than imagery... Great visual!
